CLARIFICATION TEXT ON THE PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

Dear Customers, This Clarification Text has been prepared by Büyük Şefler Gıda Turizm Tekstil Danışmanlık Organizasyon Eğitim Sanayi Ve Tic. A.Ş (“BigChefs”), located at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Mahallesi, Atatürk Caddesi, No: 9/2 Armutlu, Sarıyer, Istanbul 34500. As the “Data Controller” under the Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (“KVKK”), we aim to inform you regarding the methods of collection, processing, usage, transfer, and destruction of your personal data in accordance with Articles 10 (Disclosure Obligation) and 11 (Rights of the Data Subject).

We process your personal data under all circumstances:

  • In accordance with the law and the principles of honesty,

  • By maintaining the accuracy and timeliness of the data you share,

  • For specific, explicit, and legitimate purposes,

  • In a manner that is relevant, limited, and proportionate to the purposes specified herein,

  • By retaining them for the period stipulated by relevant legislation or required for the purpose of processing.

1. Processed Data, Purposes, and Legal Grounds

Name / Surname / Contact Data: BigChefs processes your name, surname, e-mail address, and phone number.

  • (a) Reservations: Processed based on KVKK Art. 5/2 (c) (performance of a contract) to manage your reservation records at BigChefs restaurants.

  • (b) Requests and Complaints: Processed based on KVKK Art. 5/2 (ç) and (e) (legal obligation and establishment/protection of rights) to evaluate and respond to your inquiries via social media, email, or our website.

Call Center Records: When you call our call center, conversations are recorded for security, monitoring compliance with operating standards, and use in potential disputes. You are notified of this during the call.

Camera Recordings: Video recording is conducted at BigChefs Headquarters and restaurants for external security, limited to the legitimate interests of the employer. Visible warning signs are placed in these areas. Cameras do not record audio.

Call center and camera records are processed based on KVKK Art. 5/2 (f) (legitimate interest of the data controller), provided it does not harm your fundamental rights.

2. Collection and Storage of Personal Data

Your personal data is collected via:

  • Communication established by you through social media, the website, or email,

  • Call center recordings,

  • Camera recordings during your visit to the HQ or restaurants.

Data is stored electronically and, occasionally, in physical (printed) format. Access is limited to the marketing, call center, and IT departments.

3. Transfer of Personal Data to Third Parties

Your data may be shared with:

  • (a) Service Providers: IT service providers, suppliers, and business partners to fulfill the purposes mentioned above (KVKK Art. 8/2 (a) via Art. 5/2 (ç) and (f)).

  • (b) Legal Authorities: Law firms and attorneys in case of disputes (KVKK Art. 5/2 (e)).

  • (c) Public Institutions: Law enforcement, judicial bodies, and relevant public organizations if required by law (KVKK Art. 5/2 (a)).

Note: BigChefs does not transfer your personal data abroad or share it with international organizations. Automated decision-making systems are not used.

4. Retention Periods

  • Requests & Complaints: 4 years from the date of submission.

  • Reservation Records: 1 year from the date of recording.

  • Call Center Records: 1 year from the date of recording.

  • Camera Recordings: 3 months (destroyed in 3-month cycles).

5. Your Rights

Pursuant to Article 11 of the KVKK, you have the right to:

  1. Learn whether your data is being processed,

  2. Request information if processed,

  3. Learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly,

  4. Know the third parties to whom data is transferred,

  5. Request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data,

  6. Request deletion or destruction of data (under Art. 7),

  7. Object to results derived exclusively through automated systems,

  8. Demand compensation for damages caused by unlawful processing.
